On the occasion of the centenary of Italian participation in the First World War, La Nuova Pesa and La Casa delle Letterature, with the Library of Archeology and Art History of Palazzo Venezia and "VIVA Una rivista in carne e ossa", have created a series of initiatives that, brought together in the project LA GRANDE ILLUSIONE, will take place from May 5th to June 30th.
"Trenches: the world in flames and death" is the title of the exhibition that opens on Tuesday May 12 at the New Pesa. In addition to testimonial and affection objects coming from the scenes of the conflict, works by twenty-three artists, Italians but not only, will be presented, mostly belonging to the collection of gallery, selected on the figure of an emotional density capable of referring to the tragedy of war.
The title "Trenches" wants to alludes here not only to the identifying location of the First World War, but also to what should be the permanent condition of art in defense of the assaults of the trivialization of aesthetics and common sense.
