"Both touched by a melancholy that is not simple 'out of focus' of the existing, but a truly neoclassical attitude, and awareness of a hopelessly distant good, the works of Giuliani and Cutini appear to me twin witnesses of adherence to life beyond forms that we recognize every day; witnesses, however, of what is hidden in the deepest furrow of reality. "(Fabrizio D'Amico)
Giuliano Giuliani has a journey of more than thirty years in sculpture, which - from his first personal exhibition in Ascoli in 1975 - has always meant not as a declaration of weight and volume in a given space, but as a fragment, a memory of a lost integrity, testimony of a life understood as a transit. These characteristics derive directly from the material used: that travertine to which Giuliani has always remained faithful. The use of the most sacred of the stones, an archaic material from which subtraction extracts form, contributes to the attempt to decipher an incompleteness, discovering the most secret soul of matter.
On show will be possible to admire 6 large sculptures (about 130x70x50 cm) and 10 smaller ones (about 50x70x30 cm).
The 45 black and white photographs of Giorgio Cutini, all dedicated to Rome, recount the impressions that the lights, unique and special of the city, arouse in the visitor astonished and stunned. They do not tell the moment but its extension in the memory. The city is inhabited by shadows and visions, here reality becomes a dream in a concatenation of images that invite the unknown and the mystery. It is the memory of a city where you can find fragments of images that allow you to recover its history, its mysticism, its charm, its fragrance
